The Yoga Prana Philosophy

Yoga is, ultimately, about change and it is simple things done regularly and done well that are the key to bringing about these changes.

While the complete “System” of  yoga is indeed wide, deep and complex. Our approach to teaching it is simple.

We believe in meeting the student where they are at, as an individual. Shaping the Yoga to fit them – not the other way around.

Providing students with support as they embark on their own, unique yoga journey.

In this way real, positive changes (not superficial changes) can be brought about.


The Viniyoga Approach to Teaching Yoga

The term viniyoga has been used by T.K.V. Desikachar (son of Sri Tirumalai Krishnamacharya) to describe his approach to utilizing the tools of yoga, in particular his conviction that yoga practice should be adapted to fit the individuality and particular situation of each practitioner.

Our teachers have trained extensively with this approach as the primary focus and teach in the lineage of Sri Tirumalai Krishnamacharya.

“Teach what is inside you, not as it applies to you, to yourself, but as it applies to the other”.

Yoga should always be adapted to the needs, circumstances and goals of each individual, never the individual to fit the yoga.
